Perfection is a goal, never an achievement.
Both adult daughters and my son have expressed an interest in knowing more about me, especially those years prior to their birth. Another cathartic reason for doing this is me feeling the end is not that far away and this provides a sense of immortality.
I have lived my life doing projects. Professionally I was a project engineer and computer consultant. My personal life was doing things like making a perfect breakfast, building a woodworking project, remodeling my home or even just writing down life stories and thoughts for this site. This is the imperfect result.
By the way, for me, a perfect breakfast is not gourmet. A perfect breakfast is starting your day by bringing your family together and having fun with your kids making things they love to eat for breakfast.
