My father was stationed as an Army doctor in San Antonio, Texas and then in Hot Springs, Arkansas where my brother was born August 20, 1947. This was all within two years after I was born. We spent a lot of time moving.

I have no memories of this period of time, but I am sure it was not easy with my mother being pregnant and the moving. In between these moves, we spent time with my father’s family in Manhattan, Kansas and my mother’s family in Chappell, Nebraska.
