My dad bought a used 1957 Chevrolet my brother and I exactly as pictured. He bought it so we could get to school ourselves. It had a 3 speed manual shift on the column that we both thought was much cooler than those boring automatic transmissions.
I have many great memories driving that car.
My brother and I shared that car into my college years. It was used for many a party night and even an occasional winter time visit to the cottage for secret gambling card games. I did not much enjoy the taste of booze back then, so I was often the designated driver. I remember taking many a drunk classmate home parties.
I had summer job at a cheese factory in Green Bay one summer. On the way back from work to our cottage late at night, I remember one time hitting 110 mph.
My brother ended up with that car when I went to college, since freshmen were not allowed cars on campus at the University of Wisconsin.
I still love the look of that car to this day.
