I get so tired of hearing how the Republican Party is the party of racism. It is frightening how few of today’s youth and even many not so young are even aware that the Democrat Party was the party of racism in the Jim Crow era.

Democrats also almost unanimously voted against the Civil Rights Bill and the the right for women to vote. Abraham Lincoln was a Republican.

“I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character.” Martin Luther King

Republicans are big on the content of their character part of that quote, Democrats on the color of their skin part.

Every issue they blame on racism. In my lifetime, since the Jim Crow era, I have witnessed a vast improvement in the way our society has overcome it racist roots. Yet, instead of recognizing this fact, we are being inundated with the belief that racism is now worse than ever. It is just plain not true.

Urban communities have been run by Democrats for over fifty years since Lyndon Johnson’s “Great Society”. Welfare has made fatherless families the norm, entirely dependent on government. Gangs have prospered because of the lack of father models and the futility young men feel in being unable to improve their lives. Total dependency does not make for happiness. To this day, every major city with a decaying urban culture has been run by Democrats for over fifty years, yet Republicans are blamed every election for their unending problems.
