Happy 55th Wedding Anniversary, Richard & Ardis Loeber, August 26, 2022

One of my best friends, Dick Loeber, married a wonderful Nebraska girl named Ardis on this date. I do not remember how I got there, but I do remember that day well.

I was recently able to see them both when they visited here and came to our home for dinner a few days ago, just before their fifty-fifth (55) wedding anniversary.

Dick was a friend from my high school days, He was a neighbor that I hung around with a lot in the early 1960s. We were competitive in just about everything. I remember beating him most of the time in those competitions, but I think his memories just might possibly be different.

I have always been amazed how I can go many, many years without seeing a good friend like Dick from my youth and still being able to talk to him and kid around, just as if I had been with him yesterday. It is also frightening how young and innocent we all looked like back then. Now, one of main topics of conversation are our health issues related to growing old.
